Notable Facts: After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (ISEL, Lisbon 1976), Luis Cavaleiro began his professional career in industry being responsible for maintenance and production. Some years later, after finishing the specialization in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering (ISEL, Lisbon) and over the last 23 years he has worked as senior consultant for Industrial Organization and improvement of reliability of equipment and installations.

Expertise: Luis Cavaleiro has been an RCM2 Facilitator since 1998, and became RCM2 Certified Practitioner in 2007, including RCM2 (Reliability Centred Maintenance), MTA (Maintenance Task Analysis) and AP (Asset Prioritization. In December 2017 , he became RCM3 Certified Practitioner. Both as trainer and facilitator, Luis also applies the RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) methodology in cause failure identification. Over the years he worked in the following sectors of Industry:
Pulp and paper
Cement
Chemicals
Blending and packing
Energy: natural gas (pressure reduction stations and underground reservoirs equipment) and electricity substations
